Eagle is currently seeking a Programmer/Developer for a seven (7) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin in August.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Participating in the analysis, design, development, and unit testing of all the project’s ETL components i.e. Mappings, Workflows, Sessions, and resulting Data; 
  • Leading discussions with the business regarding changes required to ETL system requirements; 
  • Developing ETL programs using Informatica and SSIS; 
  • Creating and/or updating data processing overview, technical design, source to target mapping, operation manual and other technical documentation; 
  • Participating in project design and code walk throughs;
  • Participating in Quality Assurance (QA) and System Integration (SIT) testing and supporting the System Acceptance(SAT) and User Acceptance (UAT) Testing;
  • Developing, testing, and deploying full code package for the solution in Team Foundation Server (TFS); 
  • Performing day-to-day tracking, reporting and facilitating resolution of issues and risks for all project activities in TFS; 
  • Working closely with the subject matter experts, managers, and staff of the ministries on issues and business needs; 
  • Proposing and developing proof of concept solutions for extending the use of Microsoft BI technologies;
  • Participating in discussions with the business analyst regarding any changes required to business and/or system requirements, as well as requirement gathering sessions; 
  • Supporting the analysis of existing business processes, design and recommending process improvements to effectively harness the benefits of using the application(s); 
  • Providing input into and/or completing required architectural/development artifacts; 
  • Liaising with IT specialists and unit leads and working closely with support team members and relevant stakeholders; 
  • Contributing to realistic work breakdown structures and project schedules; and,
  • Developing deployment plan for the production environment. 
Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have ten plus (10+) years of the following skills and experience:
  • Demonstrated development and solution design experience in an environment where Informatica, Oracle, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS are used together;
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing ETL solutions using Informatica and SSIS;
  • Experience developing and using re-usable components to assist with ETL processes, and provide detailed documentation for the tools that are developed;
  • Experience developing star schema multi-dimensional models;
  • Experience in analyzing and planning for the modernization of large, complex, multiplatform, multi- tier information technology systems;
  • Development experience with SQL Server 2014, 2016, Oracle 11.x, 12.x, and IBM DB2 databases;
  • Demonstrated experience manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data from structured and unstructured sources;
  • Experience enhancing performance of SQL Queries;
  • Experience in database management and administration;
  • Experience in debugging mappings, transformations, mapplets, source qualifier files and queries;
  • Experience implementing star schema multi-dimensional models and documenting detailed design models;
  • Experience creating and working with Unix shell scripts;
  • Experience managing and maintaining ETL code deployments across multiple environments (i.e. DEV, SIT, UAT);
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills, interpersonal, and negotiation skills;
  • Experience working on projects within a multi-client/partner environment, involving multiple highly inter-dependent applications and/or data sources;
  • Experience working with both the business users and IT development teams to ensure business requirements are properly reflected in the system design and technical specifications;
  • Experience performing system testing and unit testing, and conducting SIT, SAT, and UAT;
  • Experience with SDLC processes, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies;
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, as well as presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and to coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities and a track record for meeting strict deadlines; and,
  • Experience in designing data warehouses and data marts for databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 as well as having a strong understanding of the architectural implications associated with each platform in regards to ETL.
