Senior Systems Analyst

Eagle is currently seeking a Senior Systems Analyst for a six (6) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin in August.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Designing technical specifications for system interfaces;
  • Data modelling for databases;
  • System and functional analysis for current and future state services for card production services;
  • Working with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and QAs to understand and capture functional and non functional requirement;
  • Preparing process flow diagrams to sync business process with IT systems;
  • Preparing and transition knowledge and technical specifications documentation to existing team members;
  • Analyzing corporate business processes and determine system technology application;
  • Developing detailed project work plans;
  • Interpreting complex and detailed information in order to determine project requirements;
  • Presenting recommendations on complex technical or business issues, both orally and in writing, to team members and client groups;
  • Promoting ideas, gain the co-operation of others and influence change;
  • Working cooperatively with client groups and division staff in developing project strategies and plans and in resolving conflicting requirements;
  • Planning, prioritizing, and completing multiple concurrent tasks in an environment of changing deadlines, priorities and requirements;
  • Performing the planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring project leadership;
  • Initiating and completing analysis of current state system and future state design;
  • Leading sessions with team members and business community to identify business needs;
  • Determining, performing, and/or overseeing technical scope of the work and ensures overall quality and effectiveness of program/system design;
  • Using extensive functional and technical experience to assess business requirements, conduct cost and feasibility analyses, verify ability of system to support proposed changes, and to provide senior level consultation to clients and division staff in resolving complex system problems. Explains detailed transaction processes to end-users in understandable terms;
  • Presenting and writing functional and design specifications for new functionality;
  • Developing technical documentation as required for corporate publication;
  • Tracking and monitoring activities, resolving problems; and,
  • Providing guidance, advice and direction to project team members such as developers, QAs, and system analysts.
Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:
  • Relevant computer technology, infrastructure, and software tools to recognize opportunities to improve business use of systems;
  • Experience with system configuration, database design, implementation, and sustainment methodologies;
  • Knowledge of the concepts, standards, and practices of system management to ensure system solutions meet business requirements;
  • Familiarity with solution design and system architecture, development languages (JAVA, PL1), integration patterns (web services), infrastructure;
  • Strong experience developing physical data models and data definition language (DDL) scripts;
  • Familiarity with mainframe languages PL1/SQL, Java;
  • Experience with Oracle, DB2, SQL Server;
  • Familiarity with database concepts; and,
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming Languages.
