Automation Test Analyst

Eagle is currently seeking an Automation Test Analyst for a five (5) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate must have:
  • Developing and executing manual and automated test coverage;
  • Participating in assigned stream or project activities required for the successful completion of each release;
  • Supporting Quality Assurance issues and methodologies;
  • Applying DevOps, Agile/SCRUM, and continuous delivery practices;
  • Analyzing and identifying testing approaches based on risk tolerance to meet medium to complex business needs;
  • Designing and documenting medium to complex test coverage;
  • Understanding the complexities of full-stack environment with occasional support;
  • Executing test coverage within the sprint, working with other members of the Value Stream;
  • Documenting defects and providing risk assessment to assist the VSL and PO to determine appropriate resolution;
  • Handling competing priorities while ensuring deliverables are met;
  • Contributing to Quality Assurance testing standards and best practices;
  • Continually assessing new tools and methodologies for Quality Assurance to identify opportunities for increased effectiveness and efficiencies;
  • Using troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to deliver solutions to problem areas of simple to medium complexity;
  • Cross-training and shadow manual testers on automation, educate manual testes to run the automation test coverage;
  • Developing test scripts using .NET, JavaScript, Groovy, Selenium, or others;
  • Developing medium to complex test scripts with occasional support;
  • Maintaining test automation frameworks;
  • Fostering a culture of team collaboration and continuous improvement;
  • Promoting active listening with team members;
  • Promoting and supporting Peer Review of team deliverables, contributing to the development of consistent and effective documentation that adheres to team standards and templates;
  • Communicating clearly, both written and verbally with directions and minimum level of support;
  • Managing own time and schedule within overall project plan, can effectively control scope of own work; and,
  • Building, maturing, and delivering capabilities that are appropriate for the client within delivery automation domain.
Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:
  • A University, College, or Technical Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, IT, or related field;
  • Formal banking/financial sector training/certification is considered an asset;
  • CSTE (Certified Software Test Engineer) certification required or equivalent testing experience;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in Automation testing or a combination of experience with both manual testing and software development;
  • One (1) to two (2) years of work experience testing APIs and with data structures i.e. REST, XML, JSON;
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with common programming concepts and languages i.e. .NET, JavaScript, Groovy, Selenium, or others;
  • Experience with one (1) or more automated testing tools (i.e. Selenium, Appium, API testing tools);
  • Proven ability to complete high-quality work at a detailed level (attention to detail);
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively work and collaborate with multiple levels within the organization;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Experience applying design guidance, technical direction, and assistance when building or training others to use automation frameworks;
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • The ability to train coach manual testers on automation basics;
  • Experience in Agile software development projects;
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment;
  • Expeirence with using Code Repository such as GitHub, TFS, or Azure DevOps;
  • Experience working in a Test Driven Development environment;
  • Experience in testing enterprise distributed systems;
  • Experience with testing web and mobile applications;
  • Experience with TFS / DevOps Azure;
  • Proficiency in SQL Server databases and SQL queries;
  • Proficiency in MS Excel advanced features;
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS;
  • Banking industry testing experience;
  • Experience with code and script test coverage;
  • Excellent analysis and problem solving skills;
  • Experience setting up and maintaining development environments;
  • Experience with Rest API and Web Services Development;
  • Experience with  C#, PowerShell;
  • Experience with XML data structures;
  • Experience with HTML and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets);
  • Experience with Katalon Studio, Swagger, Postman, Visual studio, Octopus; and,
  • Experience with Xmind and Cucumber.
