Eagle is currently seeking a VP of Information Technology for a permanent job opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing DevOps thought-leadership, ensuring continuous improvement and expansion of DevOps capabilities;
  • Providing leadership for evolving the organizational design of the DevOps Delivery, Centres of Expertise (COE) and IS Partners;
  • Partnering with business to maximize business value delivered through value and functional streams guided by member experience, functional gap, reducing technical debt and operations requirements in alignment with overall corporate priorities to achieve Noble Purpose outcomes;
  • Providing an engaging experience for IS staff with dedicated focus on careers, skills and performance management;
  • Overseeing the capacity planning to ensure that capable resources are available when required;
  • Providing strategic leadership to the solution delivery within DevOps Value Streams;
  • Ensuring that value delivered is aligned with the organization’s need for governance, security, metrics, methodologies and processes;
  • The implementation and continuous improvement of an IS Delivery and Operational Model (DevOps) that will support the efficient delivery of all IS Services to internal and external customers, ensuring the appropriateness, timeliness and quality of the services provided by IS to the corporate initiatives and business owners;
  • Acting as advocate and mature DevOps within IS and the business;
  • The plan to complete the transformation (process, tools, methods, resources, business / stakeholder alignment);
    Ensuring outcomes / measures clearly defined and implemented;
  • Implementing ideas to deliver more value through IS services and ITSM processes including improving quality or reducing the cost of delivering services along with the other members of the IS management team;
  • The IS Delivery to the portfolios and quality delivery of value to the organization from Delivery Intake through to Implementation;
  • Managing business expectations by ensuring effective management which forms the delivery commitment to the business;
  • Providing recommendations / alternatives for delivering on the corporate initiative priorities;
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with members and other key business leaders to better understand their needs and expectations;
  • Working with other IS leaders to ensure that the technology (software, infrastructure, etc.) available to the IS team is allowing them to provide the best value possible to the business;
  • HR reporting line for the majority of IS staff;
  • Supporting organizational success by ensuring that appropriate expertise is built and maintained within IS;
  • Continuous improvement of resources performance;
  • Ensuring standards are developed and maintained to ensure common approach to the delivery functions provided;
  • Ensuring that employees are well trained, effective, and optimally utilized;
  • Determining and enforcing best-practice knowledge to the value delivery and operational support functions within IS;
  • Ensuring value measurements and reporting in place;
  • Strategic oversight for the Business Analysis, Development, Quality Assurance, Continuous Delivery and Value Stream Leadership;
  • Collaboration with other Leaders with strategic oversight to ensure they are aligned; and,
  • Involvement in Resource Capacity Planning / Management as part of Delivery Intake.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Post- secondary education in computer technology or IT related discipline from an accredited institution;
  • IT background across multiple disciplines (preference for Development / Architecture);
  • Ten plus (10+) years of leadership roles in software development, technology implementation, PMO, large program and/or large project execution experience, with at least five plus (5+) years track record in Agile and/or DevOps Transformation;
  • Demonstrated capability in leading a transition of teams to a DevOps/Agile model within a large organization;
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of DevOps practices and technologies, including Continuous Delivery / Continuous Integration Pipelines;
  • Proven knowledge and practical experience of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures;
  • Experience leading the implementation of new delivery models, processes, and services;
  • Financial Sector experience (preferably in banking) is considered an asset;
  • Proficiency in general management, along with strong negotiating skills, developed listening skills, and be a creative and conceptual thinker;
  • Good computer skills, be able to analyze, motivate, and communicate well; and,
  • The ability to work weekend or shift work with some travel.
