Eagle is currently seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager for a five (5) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing a key priority project in a growing organization;
  • Directing and managing project development from beginning to end;
  • Defining project scope and objectives, deliverables, and success factors required to support business goals;
  • Collaborating with senior management and stakeholders;
  • Developing full-scale project plans interactively with team members and ensure on-time delivery;
  • Estimating the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and track resource requirements and effort throughout the project;
  • Determining and assessing need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitment with IT management if necessary;
  • Performing cost estimations, budget control, resource planning, and critical path scheduling;
  • Eliciting and managing business and technical requirements and parameters;
  • Facilitating design and implementation reviews;
  • Facilitating technical analysis, architecture and testing as required and in alignment with direction from the enterprise architect and director, infrastructure operations;
  • Proactively managing and communicating changes in project scope or budget, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans;
  • Where required, negotiating with other department managers for the acquisition of required SMEs from within the company;
  • Setting and continually managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders;
  • Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team;
  • Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path;
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations;
  • Defining project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle;
  • Identifying and providing potential resolutions to problems, project changes, risks and resource constraints;
  • Driving performance metrics to evaluate risk, progress, and success;
  • Liaising with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis;
  • Coaching, mentoring, motivating, and supervising project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work;
  • Conforming to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities; and,
  • Contributing to best practice for project execution and management.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • A University Degree or College Diploma;
  • Ten plus (10+) years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of project development and execution;
  • Five plus (5+) years’ experience working within IT departments for large publicly traded oil and gas organizations;
  • Competent and proficient understanding of infrastructure and application related components;
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential;
  • The ability to handle a number of simultaneous priorities while demonstrating urgency and ownership to drive an overall significant and mission-critical project to completion;
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team;
  • The ability to write clearly and succinctly in technical and non-technical formats;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exposure to large-scale systems;
  • The ability to apply logic and reason to solve complex problems;
  • The ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments;
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products; and,
  • Customer service skills an asset.
