Eagle is currently seeking a SQA Test Lead. This is a twenty-four (24) month, contract position scheduled to start in May.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the testing lifecycle for one or more complex cross functional projects affecting multiple interfaces and applications, as well as providing leadership in the areas of test automation, tools and processes;
  • Testing strategy development, test execution, and managing the development and execution of testing deliverables across multiple technology teams; 
  • Interfacing with various project teams to assess testing needs for the project, analyzing and interpreting test results, establishing and reviewing metrics and communicating results and recommendations to a technical and business audience;
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment by facilitating communication between multiple teams and ensuring that the tests performed by the testers spread in different teams are of similar quality;
  • Coordinating and devising software testing project deliverables, including test strategy, detailed test plan and approach, test cases, test results summary and defect management tracking and resolution;
  • Coordinating or developing test requirements as required and perform gap analysis between technical design specifications and business requirements;
  • Providing feedback on feature specification and design based on customer requirements;
  • Signing off on feature set based on customer requirements and product exit criteria;
  • Consulting with product development team and business analyst to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and performance requirements of overall system;
  • Reviewing product design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable;
  • Recommending design improvements or corrections to Business Analyst throughout the development process;
  • Applying risk-based testing to projects and report risk assessment back to Business Analyst; identifying, analyzing and responding to project risks as necessary;
  • Working closely with the Product Owner and Program Manager to estimate and plan project testing schedules, workload and testing resource capacity;
  • Defining test methods and create test plans for new or updated software projects to determine if the software will perform accurately and reliably according to documented requirements as well as established standards under both normal and abnormal conditions;
  • Generating test cases to ensure that all functional requirements of a system are captured during the product design phase;
  • Executing test plans and create test reports to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction;
  • Performing defect reporting and provide product feedback based on customer requirements;
  • Providing team leadership; and train, coach and mentor other members of test teams;
  • Maintaining effective communication with the project software developers and business analysts on project limitation, capability, and potential performance impacts; and,
  • Interacting and adapting to Client and Partner requirements and managing changes to the test regime as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Ability to be a strong leader who possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Ability to easily articulate the value of testing and the types of testing to both technical and non technical stakeholders.AGILE Product development experience;
  • Dev Ops Testing experience;
  • Experience using Visual Studio Team Services or Team Foundation Server for the development of test cases and managing defects is essentials;
  • Experience Leading a team of testers;
  • Experience communicating test defects to 3rd party vendors;
  • Experience in testing the following PeopleSoft Finance modules:
    • Account Receivables
    • General Ledger
    • Account Payable
    • eBilling
    • Financial Gateway
    • Procurement
  • Experience with Test Strategy and Test Plan creation;
  • Ability to understand business requirements;
  • Experience with Black box & White box Testing;
  • Experience with bug reporting & tracking tools;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing client requirements;
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members;
  • Ability to complete SDLC know-how & documentation;
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, quick learner;
  • Familiarity working in an Agile software development life cycle team environment (an asset); and,
  • Experience in testing on COTS applications (an asset).
