Eagle is currently seeking an Infrastructure Analyst for a six (6) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and administration of infrastructure technologies including physical servers and storage infrastructure, and virtualization infrastructure technology;
  • Performing research on potential technology solutions in support of procurement efforts;
  • Keeping current with the latest technologies;
  • Evaluating and directing implementation of enterprise solutions to suit corporate needs;
  • Adhering to Disaster Recovery requirements;
  • Performing Research and identification of new standards and policies;
  • Ensuring that the Infrastructure service standards, procedures, and policies are strictly adhered to including but not limited to software and hardware installation, new server builds, infrastructure design, and security controls;
  • Troubleshooting all aspects of Infrastructure Operations;
  • Implementing an infrastructure software version management strategy on all solutions;
  • Providing monitoring of infrastructure systems and applications including but not limited to VMware Infrastructure, Insight Manager;
  • Performing continuous improvements to infrastructure through monitoring, reporting, analyzing, and enhancing;
  • Ensuring high availability of domain infrastructure;
  • Maintaining Infrastructure Applications including but not limited to HP Insight Manager, VMware infrastructure, and Operations Manager;
  • Maintaining Server firmware to enhance performance and reliability;
  • Maintaining replacement hardware for infrastructure components as appropriate;
  • Managing storage capacity using best practice design to maintain free space and ensure expected performance;
  • Tracking and forecasting storage usage corporate wide;
  • Ensuring that capacity planning is conducted within adequate time to implement enhancements for all Server and Storage Infrastructure elements;
  • Ensuring operation and high availability of the Virtual Server Infrastructure through monitoring of datastores, virtual guests, maintaining network port groups and implementing accepted solutions;
  • Utilizing best practices to design and implement VMWare solutions;
  • Ensuring availability and continuity of systems through fault tolerance, High Availability, and Distributed Resource Scheduler;
  • Ensuring that capacity planning is conducted with adequate time to implement enhancements for all Virtual Infrastructure elements;
  • Maintaining enabling technologies that support Platform Services;
  • Maintaining security and integrity of all systems;
  • Researching, maintaining, and coordinating system upgrades and service packs;
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of industry changes and direction through research, literature, seminars, and knowledge sharing;
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate architecture standards;
  • Developing and maintaining process automation using the tools available;
  • Deploying scripting or group policy to ensure security and automated maintenance processes;
  • Monitoring systems for adherence to corporate security policies;
  • Ensuring communications between third parties is encrypted and secure;
  • Suggesting new and supporting all initiatives to increase security of confidential member data or proprietary information;
  • Attending and contribute to team meetings;
  • Providing value added user training where appropriate;
  • Creating and maintaining detailed Infrastructure documentation and procedures;
  • Escalating issues to Infrastructure Manager where required using established guidelines;
  • Providing 24/7 infrastructure support as required;
  • Working with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations;
  • Managing assignments and customer expectations to meet due dates;
  • Working with clients to manage expectations, keep them informed and strive for customer satisfaction;
  • Providing project leadership;
  • Providing technical leadership and coaching;
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the client’s infrastructure and evolving changes within the environment by sharing information to keep current on new products, services, hardware, or other configuration changes within the infrastructure;
  • Serving as an escalation point for junior staff and other teams;
  • Maintaining awareness of current products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts;
  • Ensuring IS Infrastructure adheres to defined service level objectives with business units; and,
  • Performing other duties as required by the manager.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • VMware Vrealize suite and Automation experience;
  • A solid understanding of the architecture, design, implementation, and management of all aspects of VMware Virtual Infrastructure technology;
  • The ability to build good relationships at all employee levels; and,
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with outside service providers and strategic partners.
