Eagle is currently seeking a L2 Business Analyst. This is a six (6) month, contract position scheduled to start in May.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating functional and technical specifications for systems development;
  • Analyzing requirements and helping project team in solution design;
  • Working with the project team in completing all relevant and required documentation in alignment with set standards;
  • Handling project co-ordination and end to end project management activities with the project team and with external stakeholders;
  • Working with the architecture team in completing project gating documentation and related gating requirements;
  • Tracking project financials and spending;
  • Conducting JAD sessions with stakeholders to create, review, document and validate any or all the following for the online solutions including business requirements, functional requirements, system requirements, process flow, mapping and modelling, requirements, tractability matrix, options analysis, and costing analysis business case;
  • Conducting, assessing, evaluating and documenting stakeholder interests and business needs;
  • Creating and validating use cases;
  • Producing visual depiction of use cases and process flows;
  • Ensuring alignment with the program area and associated business architecture, as well as traceability to solution logical and physical architectures;
  • Working on current state and GAP analysis;
  • Finalizing specification and documentation of all reporting requirements for the solution;
  • Finalizing logical and physical data model, Data Dictionary and CRUD Matrix documentation;
  • Creating, reviewing, providing input and supporting of Enterprise Architecture artifacts for all checkpoints as needed;
  • Assisting with system and user interface design and modifications such as data and screen as required;
  • Reviewing all test scenarios to ensure the requirements are met and establishing traceability matrix to monitor output;
  • Assisting the testing team in the resolution of test defects;
  • Ensuring alignment and adherence to company processes and standards;
  • Researching and documenting comparisons of existing systems that will meet the client requirements;
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction related to the contracted work items;
  • Work planning and outlining of effort to completion;
  • Providing a detailed list of all work and artifacts completed on the project;
  • Ensuring knowledge transfer to internal staff – that is, upon leaving the project, transferring over all information, research, and documents to the client;
  • Tracking project activities in the project plan;
  • Tracking project financials and resource consumption and requirements throughout the project;
  • Handling solution design activities with the development team, leading internal team reviews and negotiating with customer on design activities, design issues and design gaps;
  • Attending any meetings related to the resolution of any request (as required);
  • Other JTS PMO and EA documentation (as required);
  • Conducting presentations (as required);
  • Preparing briefing notes (as required); and,
  • Preparing Status reports (as required).

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Five (5) years’ business analysis experience at the specified level in large IT organizations;
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of applications;
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to be team player with a track record for meeting deadlines;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite including , Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with OPS IT Enterprise Architecture Standards and artifacts;
  • Working knowledge of Powerdesigner and Sparx Enterprise Architect;
  • Experience in tools for tracking project financials, and resource consumption; and,
  • Experience in using technical solution design and prototyping tools to assist in JAD and design sessions with stakeholders.
