Job Title:                     SAP Solutions Architect

The Solutions Architect (SA) is responsible for developing architecture solutions and high-level design specifications for SAP projects. The SA owns all solution architecture and design deliverables for applications and business processes. The SA follows recommended reference architecture frameworks, enterprise standards, and architectural requirements to design and implement solutions in coordination with application and technology platform delivery groups.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Working with other IT groups, develop and maintain an SAP architecture strategy including SAP roadmaps, implementation patterns and associated communication materials that will reduce overall complexity and increased sustainability;
  • Participate in establishing the technical strategy and standards for integration of SAP application functionality and workflows to non-SAP applications;
  • Ensure designs are consistent industry best-practices and with enterprise development standards and guidelines;
  • Provide guidance on the design, architecture, and delivery of new SAP solution;  
  • Review the technical design for impact analysis, recommend configuration build based on technical synergies, define the testing approach and approve the test strategy for the release;
  • Translate business requirements into SAP terminology and SAP terminology into business terms, give business-oriented presentations to business users, demonstrate entire module(s) functionality to business users;
  • Lead the definition of relevant business data;
  • Produce architecture/design documents through all phases of the solution delivery life cycle including design, build, and implementation;
  • Identify project risks and participate in defining risk mitigation and control activities;
  • Document integration with all in-scope SAP products and add-ons, as well as third-party systems and applications;
  • Supervise application design and architecture components;
  • Supervise process and functional design activities;
  • Create functional requirements as an input to application design and collaborating with the application design groups;
  • Supervise build, test, and deploy activities;
  • Drive test planning and execution; and,
  • Provide technical and organizational leadership in the design, definition, planning, and development of the architecture and strategy, including repeatable solutions patterns;

Your Skills & Experience

  • A University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from a recognized University;
  • TOGAF certification is an asset
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills;
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in full lifecycle SAP projects;
  • Strong solution design and facilitation skills;
  • Able to facilitate the solution design process working collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to identify process improvements
  • Poise, maturity and communication skills necessary to represent the SAP architecture group internally and externally;
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communications skills;
  • Strong customer interface skills;
  • Ability to engage in professional, courteous interpersonal communication with both technical and non-technical personnel;
  • Ability to work with a technical and business-oriented team(s);
  • Excellent collaboration and teaming skills, effective time-management and multi-tasking skills, self-starter behavior;
  • Demonstrated mentoring and influencing skills
  • Minimum 6- 8 years of experience in SAP architecture and package implementation on ECC, S4 HANA and/or NetWeaver platforms with an emphasis in integrating systems in multi-user, multi-platform, multitasking operating systems environments;
  • Implementation of various SAP modules like FI/CO, SCM, MM, SM, Solution Manager, etc.
  • Typically includes foundation experience with SAP Basis; SAP-NetWeaver XI, SAP-ABAP;
  • Implementation experience of integrating SAP application with the non-SAP application (could and on-premise) via middleware;
  • Proficiency in SAP UX technologies like Fiori, Personas;
  • Experience in SAP application sizing, HA, DR, and defining non-functional requirements (NFRs);
  • Experience in SAP application upgrade, patching, multi environments (n=1) support;
  • Proficient in data, infrastructure, application architecture;
  • Strong proficiency in the Solution Manager and its use within the SDLC; and,
  • Experience with the preparation of solution architecture documents, architecture review board presentation material, high-level design, and implementation documents.
