Eagle is currently seeking a Business Analyst. This is a twelve (12) month, contract position scheduled to start in April.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Defining and utilizing relevant business analysis techniques and methodologies to perform solution analysis and design;
  • Conducting requirements management including requirements traceability and baselining;
  • Conducting enterprise analysis including benchmark studies, feasibility analysis and SWOT;
  • Conducting requirements elicitation including prototyping, reverse engineering, focus groups and interviews;
  • Performing requirements analysis such as analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities, writing specifications, process modeling, organization modeling and use cases;
  • Performing solution assessment and validation including support of user acceptance testing, defect and issue reporting;
  • Developing test cases as appropriate;
  • Developing functional designs or detailed user stories;
  • Driving the definition, optimization, improvement, and approved changes to new and existing business processes and IT solutions via development of business and functional requirements;
  • Identifying the current and future-state business processes;
  • Helping the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support the future;
  • Determining operational objectives by studying critical business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats;
  • Providing continuous improvement services to improve existing business processes and inform the business solution delivery leadership team of potential continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Managing process conformance and compliance as appropriate;
  • Recommending controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures;
  • Supporting change management activities;
  • Preparing technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; and,
  • Developing functional designs or detailed user stories.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • University degree in business or information systems or equivalent experience;
  • Experience in contributing to the success of a range of small-to-medium initiatives with escalating levels of complexity and business criticality;
  • Experience in a business analyst role and in other relevant roles within IT;
  • Excellent understanding of business context and mode of operations;
  • Proven ability to identify, formalize, and problem solve business needs;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation;
  • Mature perspective on architecture principles and frameworks;
  • Understanding of principles of iterative development, and ability to document business requirements as Agile user stories;
  • Experienced in effectively interacting and communicating with business teams;
  • Ability to consolidate business requirements and translate them into IT deliverables;
  • Familiarity with business engineering system concepts and principles as well as complex modeling techniques;
  • Ability to align business unit sub-processes to enterprise business processes and ability to lead functional requirement walk throughs and quality reviews;
  • Ability to identify the effectiveness and completeness of business and technology strategies and ensure alignment with IT and other applicable cross-organization strategies;
  • Deep knowledge of business context and mode of operations;
  • Knowledge of supply chain and parcels processing from order creation through to delivery to the end customer;
  • Ability to work with processing complexities every day, both from a business process point of view as well as the broad landscape of IT applications that enable the processing of parcels products and services;
  • Graduate degree in business administration (an asset); and,
  • Certifications as certified business analysis professional, BABOK, ITIL foundations, project management professional or TOGAF certification (an asset).
