Eagle is currently seeking a Technical Solutions Architecture. This is a eighteen (18) month, contract position scheduled to start in February.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing technology vendor platform documentation and developing local architecture documents;
  • Creating early proof of concept applications including writing sample code where applicable and creating or assessing technical artifacts to assist in the design and planning of the project;
  • Researching and advising on industry best practices in Health Systems design;
  • Designing data schemas, application prototypes for applications as required;
  • Developing data extraction, analysis and reporting systems;
  • Designing extract, transform and load mechanisms for interfacing systems;
  • Developing data exchange and interoperability interfaces for Health Systems;
  • Working with stakeholders to elicit technical requirements for Health Systems;
  • Coordinating the resolution of technical issues by working with business owners;
  • Identifying people, processes and technology required to streamline development of the digital health plan;
  • Working with vendors to customize software for company needs as required;
  • Conducting knowledge transfer to staff;
  • Producing a wide variety of high quality deliverables such as software, software and system specification documents, presentations, project delivery materials, business analysis documents, requirements elicitation documents, process work flows, architecture and systems modeling artifacts;
  • Developing and adhering to project schedules based on pre-defined targets and project plans, ensuring on time delivery of required project deliverables; and,
  • Collaborating with staff across the organization on all activities as described above.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • University degree or college diploma in a related field;
  • Ten (10) plus years’ experience in software development and architecture in an environment with multiple diverse data sources, and large and complex data sets;
  • Five (5) plus years’ experience working within the healthcare sector;
  • Project work experience;
  • Demonstrated experience creating health data interoperability interfaces;
  • Experience in eliciting clinical user requirements using a variety of techniques such as modeling requirements, processes and workflows;
  • Experience in facilitating business process improvements and successfully implementing change initiatives within the healthcare sector;
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies within the healthcare sector;
  • Ability to prioritize, manage conflicting demands, and to take initiative;
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently;
  • Understanding of privacy laws and regulations;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;
  • Experience balancing a continually changing workload to ensure professional quality deliverables are produced and project deadlines are met;
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy in developing documents;
  • Superior customer service skills including the ability to proactively triage, resolve and minimize reported issues;
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Experience using MS Office Tools such as Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point;
  • Ability to multi-task and liaise with various senior stakeholders;
  • Solid client facing skills, self-motivation and ability to work independently, driving all aspects of Technical Solutions Architecture forward towards objectives as specified by the CTO;
  • Excellent office productivity skills including presentation and project management tools;
  • Ability to adapt to work with a wide variety of stakeholder audiences including physicians, clinicians, technologists, researchers, administrative staff and executives;
  • Significant experience with modern software development tools and frameworks;
  • Experience with healthcare information standards such as HL7 (v2, v3, CDA and FHIR)
  • Experience with healthcare specific APIs and toolkits such as HAPI and Everest;
  • Experience with Microsoft development tools and cloud platforms;
  • Experience with Software and Systems Architecture Tools such as Visio and Enterprise Architect;
  • Experience with technical platforms such as programming, application development and support including Visual Studio, web development, XML, REST and interface development;
  • Experience with application development on Linux and Android;
  • Experience with relational data models, including analysis of information and domain models;
  • Experience with SQL server and database admin including database design, stored procedures and TSQL;
  • Experience designing, planning and implementation cloud-based software solutions;
  • Business intelligence and analytics knowledge;
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills; and,
  • Strong communications skills.
