Eagle is currently seeking a Citrix Systems Engineer. This is a six (6) month, contract position scheduled to start in January.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing and resolves system problems;
  • Providing on-call technical support;
  • Recommending, scheduling, and performing software improvements, upgrades, and purchases for the system infrastructure to maintain service levels;
  • Monitoring and testing performance and providing statistics and reports to proactively identify potential problems and bottlenecks;
  • Ensuring environment is secure and appropriate recovery and redundancy issues are addressed;
  • Reviewing and studying assigned vendor software and hardware products to determine those that meet the client’s needs;
  • Conducting research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts in conjunction with architecture team to ensure continuity of services; and,
  • Managing and providing guidance to outsourced vendors, junior members of the team, or other third-party contractors involved with the management or provisioning of network resources.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science;
  • Five (5) years equivalent work experience;
  • Working technical knowledge of Citrix, Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisor and related virtualization technology, Nutanix, AHV hypervisor, network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows/2008 R2, Windows 2012, Windows/7, Windows/10 and Linux;
  • Experience with Citrix XenDesktop 6 or higher, Citrix XenApp 6.5 or higher, Citrix Netscaler 10.x or higher, and App-V;
  • Advanced working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and Active Directory;
  • Strong knowledge of local area network administration;
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience;
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives;
  • Ability to conduct research into software or hardware issues and products as required;
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Experience and certifications in Citrix and other appropriate technologies;
  • Experience with Citrix XenDesktop 7.x;
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp 7.x administration;
  • Experience with Netscaler 10.x or 11.x administration;
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008R2 and Windows Server 2012 administration;
  • Experience with basic networking troubleshooting and configuration;
  • Experience with Powershell Scripting;
  • Experience with Windows 7/10 desktop OS administration;
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to read, write, and interprete technical documentation and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;
  • Strong customer service orientation;
  • Experience with VMware 6x and App-V experience (an asset);
  • Experience with ITIL processes and ITIL Foundations (an asset);
  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2008R2 and 2012 Operating Systems (an asset); and,
  • certification as Citrix Administrator (an asset).
