Eagle is currently seeking a BI Developer for a one (1) year contract opportunity, scheduled to begin in February.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering analytical reporting and dashboard solutions across multiple technologies;
  • Maintaining/supporting current initiatives and work very closely with business users to gather, define, and translate new business initiatives into BI solutions;
  • Working with other IT resources to manage advanced BI applications using the MS BI stack including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and T-SQL/stored procedures, PowerBI and Azure Data Factory;
  • Providing analytical and technical knowledge bringing new thinking and innovative approaches to solving problems;
  • Effectively scoping, sizing, and planning the development of analytical solutions that meet or exceed the business need and sets expectations accordingly;
  • Analyzing, designing, developing, and documenting BI solutions based on standards and best practices;
  • Designing and developing Business Intelligence solutions using multidimensional cubes;
  • Working closely with the data analysts and provides technical design recommendations on the data mart structures which support analytical applications;
  • Recommending strategies of reporting solutions such as designing schema objects, grids, graphs, reports, and dashboards, including designing, building and maintaining metadata models, and OLAP cubes;
  • Designing functional specs for BI front end applications including dashboards and reporting, considering appropriate data flow and capture;
  • Working with business users and other stakeholders to understand business processes and translate them into functional and non-functional specifications for BI solutions;
  • Administering performance and capacity management of the BI solutions to provide a stable production environment;
  • Identifying problem trends and corrective actions and documenting these through modification of existing best practices guidelines;
  • Providing expertise and guidance to other users in the use of the toolset;
  • Developing and enhancing relationships with business users through good practices of Customer Service;
  • Conducting software demonstrations/presentations/training of the Analytics and BI platform that range from standard to custom demonstrations; and,
  • Constantly learning and developing expertise in Analytics and BI software. 

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Management Information Systems, related field (or equivalent experience);
  • Two (2) to four plus (4+) years’ experience in developing Business Intelligence Solutions, using Microsoft Power BI and TIBCO Spotfire;
  • Experience with Power BI Report and Dashboard development using DAX, M, Python, and R;
  • Strong data modeling and T-SQL skills;
  • Experience building and leveraging Microsoft Analysis Services or Azure Analysis Services tabular models;
  • Exposure to Azure and working knowledge of Azure services for data and business intelligence;
  • Experience with other Business Intelligence tools (Sisense Looker, Tableau, Tibco Spotfire) (Spotfire required, Sisense Looker, and Tableau preferred);
  • Experience with Oracle, logic Apps, ASP .NET, C#, Hadoop, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power Suite, API Management;
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to effectively and clearly communicate concepts and solutions;
  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of solutions using Microsoft’s BI Stack (Power BI, SQL Server, SSAS, SSRS), Spotfire, or other leading BI technologies;
  • Great organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong logical and analytical thinker;
  • The ability to be self-managed to identify and fill in missing business requirements on behalf of users;
  • The ability to be a self-starter and work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills;
  • A highly collaborative working style;
  • Eagerness to learn and build both technical and analytical skills; and,
  • Oil and Gas experience considered a plus.
