Eagle is currently seeking an SAP Finance Specialist. This is a six (6) month, contract position scheduled to start in December.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing business requirements such as functional and technical requirements, information need and business processes by conducting information-gathering sessions with clients, analyzing the information and being able to document an accurate understanding of their business requirements and mapping of those to SAP business processes including alternative solutions to achieve the business objectives;
  • Working with project and user teams to provide implementation leadership, SAP solutions and methodologies;
  • Recommending selection of appropriate SAP business processes to meet client requirements effectively and with confidence;
  • Collaborating effectively with key subject matter experts to resolve issues around the business processes;
  • Developing proof of concepts to showcase functional solutions to the key business partners and subject matter experts;
  • Providing support to the finance functional lead and department champions in the areas of change management and curriculum development for training along with business process review sessions;
  • Providing user support and training of subject matter experts on new functionality;
  • Documenting requirements, business process maps, project plans and training materials;
  • Functionality Testing and obtaining the knowledge of and ability to use testing methodologies, processes and tools for testing of functionality, including unit, integration, system, regression and dry run testing;
  • Designing and developing test plans including test objectives, test cases, test data and test scripts for executing unit, integration, system or acceptance testing in order to ensure the solution meets the business requirements;
  • Developing process models based on business requirements in order to determine the completeness of the information and process components;
  • Coordinating execution of project tasks in your functional area and being comfortable in working under the pressure of tight project deadlines;
  • Delivering basic SAP training to client end-users;
  • Working very closely with business decision makers and end users;
  • Collaborating with the business user community, providing exceptional SAP functional and technical guidance in SAP finance modules that facilitates SAP utilization, and implementing process improvements and integration;
  • Reporting to the project manager and business lead and working in collaboration with project team members, IT and external vendor to ensure the quality of the product;
  • Providing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs);
  • Completing Buildbooks and capturing all configuration elements;
  • Participating in all project change request activities, release management and creating documents to support all activities;
  • Strategy alignment;
  • Test scripts;
  • Testing;
  • Providing status reports on progress;
  • Coordinating with teams to resolve testing related issues;
  • Managing the test defect logs;
  • Managing the workshop backlogs;
  • Reviewing and modifying business process flow diagrams;
  • Reviewing and creating of training materials based on process flows; and,
  • Other assigned tasks as required.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, accounting, finance or a related field;
  • Four to six (4-6) years of related work experience or a master’s degree and approximately five (5) years of related work experience;
  • Five (5) years’ experience working on the operating and budget process preferably in municipal environment;
  • Five (5) years of experience working with SAP FICO and FICO integration as well as participation in full life cycle implementations;
  • CPA designation;
  • Experience with project systems and integration to business planning and consolidation;
  • Current SAP configuration and module working knowledge in FI and CO;
  • Familiarity with FI, CO, MM, PPM and TE;
  • Experience executing a business blueprint and documenting business requirements that can be understood by a technical process team;
  • Experience developing project documentation, training materials, requirements gathering and project management methodology;
  • Experience with SAP reporting and S/4HANA including BI/BW and BPC
  • Business process analysis and redesign experience;
  • Strong business analysis skills;
  • Experience with process mapping, business process redesign and implementation;
  • Systems implementation skills;
  • Experience in requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management and support;
  •  Experience in three (3) plus full cycle implementations including scoping and planning, process design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post go-live support;
  • Experience with integration in external systems with a focus on core HR and Payroll;
  • Experience in preparation and execution of test cases, test plans and test scripts;
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills;
  • Superior oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with a proven ability to successfully deal with complex issues working within the context of cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to be results-oriented, a critical thinker with excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with professionals at all levels;
  • Ability to exercise judgment, take initiative and work with various levels of employees;
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment;
  • Knowledge of the SAP Finance FICO modules including procurement, GL, AR, AP, controlling, asset accounting, bank accounting, travel management, fund management, business planning and consolidation and project systems;
  • Understanding of Financial and Accounting processes;
  • Experience with EnableNow (an asset); and,
  • SAP certification (an asset).
