Senior Project Manager

Eagle is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager. This is a twenty-four (24) month, contract position scheduled to start in October.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders;
  • Effectively communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
  • Liaising with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis;
  • Setting and continually managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders;
  • Planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools;
  • Tracking project milestones and deliverables;
  • Determining the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzing results, and troubleshooting problem areas;
  • Defining project success criteria and disseminating them to involved parties throughout project life cycle;
  • Conducting project post mortems and creating a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements;
  • Developing, supporting, influencing and creating best practices and tools for project
    execution and management;
  • Actively promoting, mentoring and championing established best practices and methodologies;
  • Designing and implementing the project delivery process based on best practices and industry experience in collaboration with the project management excellence working group and applicable partners;
  • Interacting with business clients at all levels;
  • Representing company throughout the corporation;
  • Working with contractors, consultants, third party vendors and service delivery partners as appropriate;
  • Directing and managing project development from beginning to end;
  • Developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents;
  • Delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel;
  • Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team;
  • Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path;
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, documentation, and presentations;
  • Adhering to and supporting the goal of maintaining high standards of data quality in the project management tool;
  • Proactively managing changes in project scope, budget or timeline, identifying potential crises, and devising contingency plans;
  • Coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising project team members and contractors, and influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work;
  • Building, developing, and growing any business relationships vital to the success of the project;
  • Estimating the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals;
  • Drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary;
  • Negotiating with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company; and,
  • Determining and assessing need for additional staff and consultants and making the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science, information systems, business administration or another related field;
  • Eight (8) plus years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of managing projects;
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions;
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently;
  • Flexibility and adaptability skills during times of change;
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines;
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating abilities;
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments;
  • Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;

  • Strong familiarity with project management process, tools, techniques at an advanced level;
  • Advanced knowledge of the agile principles and the scrum framework;
  • Experience with Microsoft Project Server (MPS);
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management;
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Skills at conducting research into project-related issues and products;
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement;
  • Knowledge of credit risk management (an asset);
  • Dedicated scrum master or agile coach experience (an asset); and,
  • Project management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum (an asset).
