Senior System Analyst

Eagle is currently seeking Senior System Analyst for a seven (7) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin in September.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • The development, configuration, piloting, remediation, and deployment of virtual technical solutions (Virtualization Platforms, VDI, Application Delivery, et al) required to successfully run applications in a Windows 10 / Thin Client / virtual desktop environment;
  • Working with the Technical Project Manager in collaboration with technical, application, and business readiness teams and delivery partners;
  • Collaborating with the technical teams (Enterprise Architecture, Security, etc.), Service Providers, and other external resources to ensure holistic end-to-end delivery of integrated virtual solutions to the client;
  • Leading the definition of resolution strategies/solutions for problem applications;
  • Proving solution feasibility through use of supporting documentation including business cases, requirements documents, use cases, etc. and integrated testing;
  • Conducting end-to-end testing of proposed solutions;
  • Documenting use cases, test scripts, and testing plans;
  • Engaging clients and delivery partners to plan/schedule testing;
  • Leading and evaluating testing activities;
  • Obtaining client and technical partner sign off;
  • Documenting all technical solution architecture according to best practice and existing standards;
  • Leading the identification, analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues arising from implemented solutions including conducting root cause analysis and identifying alternate technical solutions to meet defined needs;
  • Supporting project and change management activities;
  • Working with the teams, sponsors, business, staff, and support teams to understand application and workflow requirements, which will need to be disseminated to technical solutioning teams;
  • Working closely with the Applications and Windows 10 Readiness teams to understand and assess Windows 10 SAC requirements, GPOs, grouping, security settings, and various application-specific requirements;
  • Providing technical solution support to the team to enable application intake, testing, remediation, packaging, and deployment;
  • Producing comprehensive customer reports including strategies for optimization;
  • Ensuring solutions are technically robust, financially sustainable and aligned to the client’s roadmaps;
  • Supporting the development of post implementation support models (i.e. internal versus managed service versus mixed models), including the development of production turnover documentation, training materials and standard operating procedures;
  • Working closely with the Windows 10 Readiness team to identify, implement, and support lab requirements;
  • Ensuring the infrastructure, processes and support documents are ready for the pilot; and,
  • Technical solution documentation such as requirements, solution diagrams including architecture, technical and process workflow, production turnover documentation, training materials, Standard Operating Procedures, customer reports (statistic, trends, optimization), testing documentation, schedule, Use Cases, Test Scripts, evaluation criteria, and completed evaluation.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • A Degree in a related discipline and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience, or a Diploma in related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience, or a Certificate in related discipline and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience, or an absolute minimum of eight (8) years of directly experience;
  • Strong IT infrastructure and technical troubleshooting background;
  • Experience with Virtualization, VDI, Thin Client, Citrix, VMWare, Windows 10,  and Windows 7;
  • A high proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio);
  • Exceptional technical documentation and presentation skills;
  • Outstanding ability to translate and express technical problems, outcomes, and benefits using layperson terms;
  • Familiarity with software packaging process, application/desktop virtualization,  and software distribution;
  • Experience with Group Policy and Active Directory design at enterprise level;
  • Experience in comprehensive integrated desktop management; such as mandatory profiles, login scripts, digital certificates deliveries, network drive mapping, printer mapping, white lists, exceptions creation, generic accounts, enterprise test lab and software patching;
  • Experience with output, device management, and peripheral connectivity;
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively facilitate discussions with a diverse group of stakeholders, users, etc.;
  • Understanding of how to interpret customer business and client needs;
  • The ability to work independently and within a team as required;
  • The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment; and,
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
