Eagle is currently seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager for a one (1) year contract opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing work of both internal staff and external contractors across two (2) or more projects;
  • Adhering to program PMO standards for delivery, risk management, quality assurance, and reporting;
  • Extending project plans, schedules, and budgets as required to move facility projects from schematic design and detailed design development (design) into build (construction) and to handover;
  • Prioritizing work activity to coordinate resources to meet objectives, including time and cost of project management, design architectural and consultant firms, and the installation and commissioning of equipment;
  • Coordinating day-to-day activity of the construction manager, project teams, maintaining schedules, budgets, project logs such as issue, risk, action item and change and updating internal project sites used as primary collaboration tool;
  • Developing and delivering monthly project reports, presenting to program manager, and supporting plan and reforecast content developed for program reviews;
  • Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team;
  • Managing risks with a detailed risk mitigation plan and monthly reviews;
  • Project accounting in SAP, invoice reconciliation, accruals, initiating JV, reforecasting and budgeting as required for both operating and capital accounts;
  • Meeting deadlines set out by the Program Manager, while meeting quality standards set out by the company and program;
  • Complying with policy and procedures that apply to contract staff working on-site and across numerous facilities;
  • Transitioning existing (ongoing) project plans, WBS, scheduling and budget forecasts and refining to in-depth artifacts usable to manage each specific work stream to completion;
  • Leading work streams, conducting working group meetings, coordinating and collaborating across a diverse group of stakeholders, internal/external resources and contractors;
  • Holding daily on-site safety meetings to resolve issues and remove roadblocks to meeting deadlines, per published schedules;
  • Integrating project schedules as sub-projects into master plan maintained by Program Manager, adhering to program standards for Microsoft Project schedules, conducting critical path analysis, generating baselines and reforecasts;
  • Supporting project change requests;
  • Providing frequent progress updates including implementation of project controls such as cost performance-earned value metrics, issues and activity management, risk matrix, schedule progress at monthly program reviews and monthly status reports to management;
  • Documenting meeting minutes, content changes and coordinating with project administrators and clerk/document controller to assure consistency;
  • Updating and maintaining production and quality metrics of projects;
  • Leading and directing technical and administrative activity across facility projects assigned, and delivery of facility projects within the program;
  • Executing and monitor project activities within projects assigned to deliver;
  • Identifying and flagging changes to scope, cost and schedule of project work to the Program Manager, creating change assessments, project change requests, updates to project budgets and schedules as required;
  • Coordinating priorities and resources between multiple projects, updating cost and resource management plan to adhere to cost performance targets;
  • Preparing and updating project plans and status reports for Program Manager;
  • Providing updates on project issues during scheduled operational meetings as in routine with work stream leads and teams;
  • Coordinating cross-functional meetings of personnel related to work streams assigned;
  • Facilitating sessions to effectively resolve issues and aligning appropriate resourcing to ensure projects are completed within given time and budget;
  • Utilizing corporate PMO and program-based processes to track project schedule and cost as well as directed by the Program Manager;
  • Reporting status, developing project-related documentation and implementing lessons learned; and,
  • Participating in project performance review meetings and discussions.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • A University Degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar discipline;
  • Seven (7) years of project management experience in facility / building construction that includes planning, scheduling, CPA, budgeting, risk mitigation, issues resolution, scope management, communications, resource management, cost performance tracking and quality tracking;
  • Project management designation;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Experience with G-Suite such as G-Mail, Docs, Sheets, io.Draw, Drive and Sites and a high acumen with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio;  
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment and tight timelines;
  • Experience working on medium to large projects;
  • Proven experience in earned value for facility design and construction projects;
  • Experience in facility construction in all PMI knowledge areas;
  • The ability to facilitate key messaging for project teams and during stakeholder meetings;
  • The ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully;
  • Experience implementing safety management plans and OH&S compliance;
  • Experience working on-site construction sites, near-miss reporting, safety meetings and corporate reporting requirements;
  • The ability to manage projects to completion;
  • The ability to facilitate effective team interactions across all team members;
  • The ability to communicate effectively to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions;
  • The ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively; and,
  • Recent construction project experience which includes structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, design/construction and installation/commissioning (an asset).
