Eagle is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager. This is an eighteen (18) month, contract position scheduled to start in July.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Working collaboratively with business partners on complex solution delivery end to end project delivery throughout the project life cycle;
  • Working on all aspects of project including changes, risks and issues;
  • Reporting on project health and status to senior executives;
  • Working with internal and external team members;
  • Project management;
  • Supporting the construction and implementation of the changes to company’s information management landscape for the impact of the new rate framework;
  • Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders;
  • Assisting in defining client requirements for ensuring the solution meets business needs;
  • Tracking all project deliverables with focus to drive towards meeting requirements traceability matrix, project exit/ closeout criteria and project success factors;
  • Constructing, executing and controlling plans, and assisting in the management of the change control process;
  • Collaborating with vendors in an outsourced environment working with both on-shore and off-shore resources;
  • Mitigating impact of all identified project risks and issues;
  • Following methodology as set by the PMO based on PMI PMBOK / Waterfall and Agile methodologies;
  • Participating in and facilitating project governance and project status meetings;
  • Distributing status reports as required;
  • Working groups and committees as required;
  • Relationship management;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal clients;
  • Liaising and integrating between business lines and technology including external vendors;
  • Identifying and evaluating current and future change requirements;
  • Motivating and leading project teams to work as a cohesive unit and ensuring the completeness of projects by cultivating relationships with operational staff, consultants and management;
  • Ensuring awareness of risks and issues that impact current and future projects;
  • Supporting expectations, resolving conflict and eliciting support and cooperation;
  • Supporting the activities of consultants and vendors regarding their project commitments;
  • Clearly articulating roles and responsibilities within the project; and,
  • Monitoring the team performance on a regular basis and notifying management if corrective action is required, with purposed options in place.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Seven (7) plus years’ experience on project delivery for large and complex, enterprise-wide technology initiatives;
  • Seven (7) plus years of SDLC experience on large transformative technology initiatives involving complex systems integrations;
  • Five (5) plus years proven leadership and project governance skills working with C-level executives;
  • Three (3) plus years’ experience on project delivery with a data/information solution component such as business intelligence platforms, ETL technologies and data warehouse technologies;
  • Three (3) plus years proven experience and accountability for vendor performance management;
  • Experience in building end-to-end enterprise information management solutions;
  • Proven business acumen with strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills;
  • Experience with guidewire technology such as BC/PC/CC (an asset);
  • PMP certification (an asset); and,
  • Insurance industry experience (an asset).
