Eagle is currently seeking a Desktop Engineer Support. This is a three (3) month, contract position scheduled to start in August.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing Tier 3/4 desktop engineer support for software management to clients;
  • Application packaging capability assisting in the creation of desktop images and application packages for the desktop;
  • Providing thorough technical configuration documentation for each application package;
  • Providing customer facing available configurations;
  • Conducting dd (Linux) distribution testing;
  • Providing 3rd/4th level problem resolution for issues;
  • Providing delivery methodology and package of release utilizing approved tool set;
  • Performing all work to meet ISO and QMS standards;
  • Assessing and resolving all support requests based on urgency, type of issue and available resources;
  • Monitoring, packaging, testing and distributing patch management;
  • Keeping people informed through use of appropriate methods;
  • Sharing relevant or useful information in a timely manner;
  • Fostering exemplary cooperation and collaboration within and between teams;
  • Communicating clearly, concisely and accurately; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Five (5) years of work experience with Client / Server Intel Platforms;
  • Engineering or computer science educational requirements or equivalent work experience;
  • Experience working in large corporate enterprise environment;
  • Experience in testing and integration of Microsoft Products or Linux software;
  • Working knowledge of Puppet and/or Ruby Code (Linux) and dd (Linux);
  • Experience with desktop builds and imaging;
  • Experience regression testing against build;
  • Experience with integrating desktop applications;
  • Experience monitoring, packaging, testing and distributing hot fixes/patches;
  • Experience with Ubuntu or CentOS;
  • Ability to work with vendors and customers;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Superior skills in both written and verbal communication;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment;
  • Ability to produce and maintain a high quality and quantity of productivity under tight timelines;
  • Competency to prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary;
  • Knowledge in call routing and case management processes;
  • Experience handling stressful situations;
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, email and database products;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Lotus Notes and printers;
  • Experience with integrating desktop applications; and,
  • Experience regression testing against build.
