Eagle is currently seeking a Cloud Portfolio Architect for a seven (7) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Enterprise Architecture team to interpret the Cloud Roadmap and defining work packages for the Cloud Delivery Program;
  • Overseeing the execution of the work packages and providing advice and guidance on the technical solution;
  • The creation of the Cloud solution design document using industry best practices and vendor recommended approach to establish the best solution;
  • Guidance on the evaluation criteria for assessing workload candidates for the cloud;
  • Advice and guidance on the migration of selected workloads to the cloud;
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders (program, operation support teams, enterprise architecture, etc.) to facilitate an understanding of the solution architecture and how it addresses functional and non-functional requirements;
  • Facilitating technical discussions to gather the information and decisions needed to develop the solution architecture;
  • Collaborating with the Business Analyst on gathering and analyzing non-functional requirements;
  • Ensuring that Cyber security and running organizations have signed off on the solution design;
  • Ensuring the solution design is updated to reflect as-built information;
  • Defining a solution architecture that meets functional and non-functional requirements;
  • Ensuring that the solution design adheres to client standards;
  • Identifying areas of architectural concern (i.e. applications, data, infrastructure, etc.) and executing investigations that lead to recommendations of practical solutions for both business and architectural stakeholder;
  • Partnering with the Cloud Delivery team and subject matter experts to ensure custom solutions are meeting the program outcomes and the identified needs of the business;
  • Assisting with coordination of effort required to implement the technical solution;
  • Ensuring technical program deliverables are in accordance with technical specifications and supporting the Program Manager to ensure planned scope, resource commitments, and schedule;
  • Managing the technical staff by collaborating on the detailed design of the system or program;
  • Performing the general technical staff management duties such as allocating coding/testing tasks, monitoring progress and identifying and managing the technical issues/defects/problems/etc.;
  • Working with Program Manager to ensure the technical scope, issues, and risks are managed as part of the overall program scope, issues, and risk management activities;
  • Working with program BAs, Cloud Engineer, DBAs, Cloud Operations team to ensure all functional and nonfunctional requirements are addressed in the detailed design on the solution;
  • Helping with the Implementation Plan and other deliverables as deemed appropriate by the Program Manager, such as deliverables related to transition to operations;
  • Acting as liaison between the Program and Enterprise Architecture teams and the Technical Support teams;
  • Partnering with the Program Manager and the Business for creating and executing the program plan;
  • Identifying program and solution risks with their mitigation strategy in earliest portion of program lifecycle;
  • Contributing to and reviewing program documentation;
  • Collaborating with program team members to progress the program forward as per program plan and scope outline;
  • Outlining both client and operations acceptance criteria;
  • Participating on program close out activities;
  • Partnering to ensure a successful transition to operations; and,
  • Managing/participating in transition to operations work and deliverables.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Experience managing and migrating infrastructure and application to the cloud;
  • Experience in benefit creation of moving infrastructure and applications to the cloud;
  • Experience in orchestration, automation, DevOps, DaaS, Private Cloud, Azure AD, multi-cloud and multi-region networks, subscription, and resource group configuration (Azure experience strongly preferred);
  • Experience with Business Problem Identification, Risk Management, Requirements Gathering and Analysis;
  • Project Management experience;
  • Design, implementation planning, and deployment management experience;
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills;
  • The ability to be hands-on and lead technical teams;
  • The ability to facilitate and create and overall design and implementation plan through coordination of multiple technical experts;
  • Flexibility and adaptable to change;
  • Excellent time management and setting priorities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate technical problems and issues to non-technical people as well as communicating business requirements to technical people;
  • The ability to collaborate in a team environment; and,
  • Demonstrated situational leadership.
