Junior Security Analyst

Eagle is currently seeking a Junior Security Analyst for a permanent job opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, documenting, and maintenance of information security policies, tools, processes, and remediation solutions for all regulatory and cyber security issues;
  • Safeguarding all information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems;
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest intelligence including hackers’ methodologies to anticipate security breaches;
  • Maintaining knowledge of and support for all regulatory requirements for IT and cyber security, including PCI, PII, ITIL, ISO 22301, ISO 27001:2013, CSOX, SOC II,  and other controls and regulations;
  • Working with third party security consultants to assess weaknesses, identify solutions, and develop and maintain strong IT Security policies;
  • Working with internal IT and user teams to review and implement security policies;
  • Leading projects and infrastructure efforts to manage cyber security and security compliance efforts;
  • Training IT staff and users on new security policies and procedures;
  • Protecting system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources;
  • Installing, configuring, and monitoring security systems;
  • Researching new technologies that will effectively protect a network and prevents data loss and service interruptions;
  • Implementing security improvements by assessing current situation, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements;
  • Determining security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits under the corporate frameworks;
  • Upgrading system by implementing and maintaining security controls;
  • Keeping users informed by preparing performance reports and communicating system status;
  • Maintaining quality service by following organization standards;
  • Maintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications;
  • Creating, testing, and implementing disaster recovery plans;
  • Performing risk assessments and testing of data processing systems; and,
  • Installing firewalls, data encryption, and other security measures.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • B.S. or A.S. or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or equivalent;
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as system and/or network administrator in a multi-location environment;
  • Experience with PCI, ISO 27001/2, and ITIL;
  • Experience with cyber security measures and configurations on a variety of hardware and software tools – firewalls, routers, password protections, encryption methods, Active Directory groups, LAN/WAN/WiFi, mobile devices;
  • Experience assessing and resolving security vulnerabilities from a technical and business process perspective;
  • Experience with open source SIEM products;
  • General knowledge of encryption and security tools – DES encryption, Digital certificates, SSL, VPN, IPsec, TCP/IP, DNS;
  • Experience with intrusion detection and data loss prevention tools and methods;
  • Security certification experience (CISSP, CISM) is a plus;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Active Directory (SQL server and Linux are a plus);
  • Strong knowledge of AWS security and architecture;
  • Experience with both on premise and cloud-based applications;
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills, as well as accuracy and attention to detail;
  • The ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds;
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage competing demands;
  • High level of business acumen;
  • Customer service focus and adheres to core values; and,
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
