Eagle is assisting our client in the search for a qualified Senior Technical Systems Analyst to support enhancements to primary system used by the Global Compliance group. The position will be responsible for implementation of extensions and enhancements of those systems including their interfaces to other systems components and standard infrastructure. 

This is a ten (10 Month contract position with a top tier company scheduled to begin immediately.

Primary duties and responsibilities of this position:

  • Implement various application components and perform integration and performance testing;
  • Work with Business Analysts to come up with optimal IT solutions for business problems;
  • Perform design and code reviews and prepare technical documentations;
  • Design, develop and execute unit test, system, integration and acceptance test;
  • Provide high-quality enhancement solutions that can meet Business needs;
  • Work closely with QA team to ensure high quality of the product;
  • Ensure adequate technical documentation and follow ‘best practices’ within the IT teams;
  • Work with infrastructure groups in requesting and implementing hardware and software;
  • Work with Information Security to review and implement controls and procedures for securely handling data;

Required Skills/ Competencies/ Attributes: 

  • Education: BA/BSc./BASc with concentrations in Computing Science, Applied Mathematics or Electrical Engineering;
    Seven plus (7+) years of experience with distributed systems development;
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience with Web Application development;
  • In depth experience in client scripting languages and presentation frameworks such as AngularJS, React, BackboneJS, and Bootstrap etc.;
  • Working experience with server side web frameworks such as ASP.NET MVC, Spring Boot, Spring MVC etc.;
  • Working experience in database development using SQL Server 2008/2012+;
  • Working experience with TDD or BDD and automated unit testing (NUnit, MSTest etc.);
  • Good understanding of OOP design principles (Inversion of control, Dependency Injection) and design patterns;
  • Web Design experience is an asset;
  • Strong computer science fundamentals;
  • Ability to implement software engineering best practices for version control, release management, unit and integration testing, work estimation and planning;
  • Some knowledge of Capital Markets products and data;
  • Knowledge of Capital markets trade surveillance requirements is an asset;
  • Knowledge of financial industry;
  • Ability to develop quality solutions for business problems;

  • Ability to work with various technical and business teams;
  • Creative problem solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Good Communication and Presentation Skills;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail oriented environment;

  • Ability to work after hours, or on weekends, as needed, to support production implementations, and assist as an escalation contact for production incidents;
