Senior Technology Infrastructure Architect

Eagle is currently seeking a Senior Technology Infrastructure Architect. This is a twenty-four (24) month, contract position scheduled to start in October.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and managing secure wireless network (TELUS LTE and HSPA
    network, IVN3 processors, VPN, servers, firewalls, protocols and topologies)
    including IP routing and switching;
  • Ethernet and WAN technologies for wireless data upgrade from 3G to 4G LTE
    Advanced migration;
  • Defining technology architecture solutions including identification of technology
    standards, attributes (e.g. performance), and planning and managing upgrades of onboard operator display to international screens;
  • Developing wireless technology infrastructure strategies and architecture to
    ensure compatibility with the existing architecture integration and preparing the migration;
  • Monitoring performance and functionality of systems and data flow of the fleet;
  • Developing technology strategies and working plans to enable migrations from legacy technology infrastructure to target technology infrastructure;
  • Coordinating technology infrastructure designs with application, communication,
    information, security and other key Vendors;
  • Participating in the specification and development of products, services, applications, implementation plans, and other factors associated with the implementation and deployment of the technical infrastructure;
  • Developing and conducting user training, creating and maintaining documentation;
  • Developing operating and testing procedures as required;
  • Working with project manager(s) to define risk mitigation strategies; and,
  • Testing as required the new technologies, and implementing as per established
    processes.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or recognized equivalency;
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ engineering/architecture experience with Wireless Data Communications equipment;
  • Working experience of SIPA technology (Secure IP Anywhere);
  • Working experience of migration from 3G to 4G LTE Advanced Networks;
  • Knowledge and experience with cellular communication mobile devices;
  • Ability to lead and work efficiently with staff;
  • Proven communication, presentation, analytical and management skills;
  • Experience in multi-vendor system integration, including: user needs analysis,
    requirement specifications, modification specifications, program development and testing, systems documentation, end-user support, and systems maintenance;
  • Experience integrating wireless modems for mobile and static installation;
  • Experience deploying numerous mobile technologies in phases;
  • Experience with APC, Clever Device Technology, P25 Radio systems;
  • Experience with VPN setup; and,
  • Ability to apply sound conceptual thinking to complex business problems and implement practical solutions.
