Lead Developer

Eagle is currently seeking a Lead Developer for a six (6) month contract opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities of a Lead Developer

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and represent a team of six to eight (6-8) developers and system analysts;
  • Provide estimates on outstanding tasks;
  • Assess risks including dependencies and schedule impacts;
  • Provide status updates on task progress;
  • Assign work to team members, QA's of team member’s code;
  • Lead and mentor intermediate and junior staff;
  • QA of analysis and design documents for your team members;
  • Lead design sessions with development team solutioning components based off the scope/cost/time constraints (exercise pragmatism);
  • Provide estimates on outstanding tasks;
  • Assess risks including dependencies and schedule impacts;
  • Provide status updates on task progress;
  • Assign work to team members;
  • Lead deployment coordination of project components to various environments using change requests (Remedy Software);
  • Produce high level design documentation for team to follow; and
  • Interact with project manager, business analysts and management.

Skills and Qualifications of a Lead Developer  

The qualified candidate must have:

  • The ability to communicate technical details to a non-technical audience;
  • Strong emotional intelligence to work with varying personalities, stakeholders and departments;
  • The ability to work closely with Technical architects to define/understand target architecture;
  • Proficiency in Visual Studio, specifically C# and Visual Basic coding languages;
  • Knowledge of .NET web service development (WCF and Restful);
  • Moderate understanding of IIS including: Application Pools; Setting up secure bindings, HMAC Encryption and  Load Balancing;
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft PowerShell scripting;
  • Ability to design technical components off of Business specifications/rules;
  • Skills in MS SQL Server and Sybase including creation and augmentation of data models; and
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of a System Test Plan including test cases with a high level of code coverage.
