Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture

Eagle is currently seeking a Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture for a permanent job opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of strategic business plans and seek ways to apply new and emerging technology to assist in achieving its business goals and strategies;
  • Providing guidelines for the business process analyst to follow when determining the current "as-is" state of a business process, and maintain current-state business process documentation;
  • Developing and maintaining an aspirational architectural road map for the enterprise.   Monitoring progress towards this roadmap and identify changes to initiatives/projects as needed to achieve it;
  • Driving IS strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development;
  • Leading enterprise architecture development; including business, information, application, and infrastructure architectures;
  • Identifying opportunities for the development of cross-LOB solutions that combine knowledge of the target business architecture, general technological options, and process facilitation techniques;
  • Ensuring enterprise wide information and technology standards are enforced when designing the future-state of business processes;
  • Providing architectural direction to Business Architects, Domain and Solution Architects while managing a team of enterprise architects;
  • Providing architecture guidance and direction to senior IS and Business executives as needed to ensure alignment between business goals and the overall IS portfolio; and,
  • Working with the Portfolio management team to ensure that all proposed projects remain aligned with the overall IS application, information and infrastructure roadmaps.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • A Degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Engineering, or Computer Science;
  • Knowledge of process improvement approaches;
  • Fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years of experience in IS;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of facilitation and organization change management;
  • The ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs;
  • The ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence with all stakeholders – both business and IS leaders, management, and staff;
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to create original concepts for a variety of projects;
  • Conceptual knowledge of new, and emerging, computing architectures;
  • Management experience in two (2) or more of the following areas:
    • Strategic planning, leadership, and relationship management;
    • Program management efforts involving the coordination of resources and goals across multiple related projects;
    • Leading multi-discipline, high-performance work teams;
    • Developing and monitoring delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems;
  • Understanding of business process management, workflow and integration methods and tools;
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, valuation, and metrics development;
  • Critical thinking and problem solving - the ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects, and to think creatively and beyond normal constraints;
  • Experience teaching/educating/coaching/mentoring stakeholders to reinforce a mentality of continuous process improvement;
  • The ability to translate business goals and metrics into business process outcomes;
  • The ability to lead and manage high-performing virtual teams;
  • Knowledgeable in designing and constructing business processes, functions, and organizational structures;
  • The ability to communicate with people at different levels, with diverse needs and agendas, related capabilities include facilitation and teaming skills;
  • The ability to analyze and balance the needs of project delivery with the needs of the overall enterprise; both in the short and long term;
  • The ability to identify emerging technology that can add business value and it’s implication for the client;
  • The ability to work with business stakeholders to modify business practices to take full advantage of technology innovation;
  • The ability to quickly develop a sound understanding of the business operating model and strategies;
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, valuation, and metrics development; possessing statistical analysis skills;
  • Strongly influential and charismatic, especially with decision makers and operational teams;
  • Highly collaborative;
  • Respected as a leader; and,
  • More interested in business results than personal preferences.
