There are certain jobs that are more active in the gig economy. Obviously technology contractors form a big part of it, and so do writers, graphic designers and carpenters. It is a massive trend beneficial for many; however, freelancing and independent contracting is not for everyone. In many ways, it requires a person with strengths in various areas.
